To Discriminate or Not To Discriminate

Discrimination. One definition is "to make a difference in treatment
[of a person] on a basis other than individual merit." Black people
know it well. It is something they have to live and deal with
everyday of their lives and is based solely on the fact that they
are a different color. So, what happens when the people who are
being discriminated against are homosexuals?

talks about a certain kind of person who is needed to help mend the relationship between black and
white people. He defines this person as being marginal, as "...one who rises above two social

anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation stated that "Education, the sheet anchor to a society
where liberty and justice are secure, is a dangerous thing to society in the presence of injustices and

be educated because it was the one area that could make the weak person strong and the black person equal.
